Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Review

Posted on 17 December 2011

So, ever heard of this game? No? You should, this game looks to be my dream come true. It’s all of my favorite things I loved about MMO’s, but in a single player setting. What I’ll call ‘Reckoning’ for short, is a single player open world role-playing game, but with awesome combat. When I say awesome combat, it’s the kind you have to see to believe. Its set in a massive open world, riddled with hundreds of handcrafted dungeons, steeped in 10,000 years of history and most importantly awesome loot. Continue Reading

My Top 5 Games – Why Skyrim Is The Best Game Coming Out This Year!

Posted on 10 July 2011

5. Dead Island

I think that this game will be a winner with many RPG fans who want to try something different instead of fighting dragons and surviving after an apocalypse. The graphics of this game are of a high standard and the storyline is very well written. The game is set on the fictional island of Banoi in a hotel called Palms Resort. You can choose between 4 characters: Xian Mei, Logan, Sam B and Purna. From reading reviews I would play as Logan as he is the leader of the group and renowned for his strength. Continue Reading

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Review

Posted on 15 November 2010

Sacred came out quite a while ago, and was generally very well-received by the gaming community for breathing some new life into the (at that time) rather monotonous RPG genre. The sequel, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel takes the same formula and adds several new elements to it, further solidifying the game’s uniqueness and making it an even more memorable title in today’s market. Resonance of Fate is a traditional RPG title in the Japanese style, and while it follows up on the popular games in the genre for the majority of its gameplay, it also brings some very innovative additions to the genre, with the final result being a varied and intriguing title which holds many hours of entertaining and challenging gameplay. And even though Resonance of Fate initially doesn’t manage to stand out from the rest of the similar titles on the market, those who do try it quickly fall in love. Continue Reading

Muramasa: The Demon Blade Review

Posted on 14 November 2010

Muramasa: The Demon Blade gained huge success upon its release in Japan, and even though it didn’t become so popular around the rest of the world, this can be partly attributed to the game’s huge tie-ins with traditional Japanese pop culture, something which not every gamer enjoys. However, those who do quickly found their next favorite game in Muramasa, and critics and players alike have praised it for its innovation and style. Continue Reading

Infinite Space Review

Posted on 14 November 2010

Infinite Space holds many of the classic characteristics of a Japanese RPG title, especially when you consider its character development and plot. However, it also has a lot of unique aspects that make it stand quite afar from other titles in this genre, and it offers a very refreshing experience if you’re tired of playing fantasy games focused around slaying dragons and other magical creatures. Eschalon: Book II Review

Posted on 13 November 2010

The first Eschalon game came from an unknown developer, Basilisk Games, and it managed to build a good reputation for the small indie company. And now, with the release of the second installment in the series, Eschalon: Book II, they’re surely on their way to getting recognized for their work even outside of the indie community. It came out as a bit of a surprise, as its developer intentionally kept it a secret as he seems to not believe in hype. Continue Reading

Demon’s Souls Review

Posted on 13 November 2010

Demon’s Souls is a Japanese RPG title set in a thrilling dark environment (inspired heavily from European settings instead of Japanese culture for once), and follows a classic RPG formula to deliver a fast-paced game with a strong emphasis on combat, looting and exploration. And even though it may fall short in some aspects of its plot, it still deserves every bit of attention you can devote to it. Continue Reading
